Running your own business can be a lot of work, but it’s ultimately very rewarding. It is more work because I tend to physically work more hours than most people in a regular nine to five job. I often also work on weekends, which is okay because I am not married and do not have children. I want to establish myself before I commit to starting a proper family.
One of the hardest parts of running your own business is advertising yourself. It’s quite difficult to find marketing opportunities that are affordable but still have a decent impact. I am planning to hire a video production company. Melbourne has several of these, however many of them are more expensive than I can afford. After all, I am only just starting my business and am yet to see any major profits that would allow me to reinvest back into the business. When I’m looking at these company websites, I’m looking to see what services they provide. For example, I really need a production company that can film, edit and write scripts. It would be even better if they could distribute it too. I did manage to find a really good video animation company, but I’m not sure if animation is quite the vibe I’m going for. I do think some animations can work well, but it depends on the business itself.
Obviously, I am not a marketing expert, so I might talk to the professionals before I start discounting major video genres. But since my business is very design-focused, I don’t think animation would be a good way to showcase all the homes I am building and all the different rooms I am styling. Who knows, though? Maybe there’s a trend where customers like to see couches with eyes or fridges with smiles and teeth. I would personally not like that, but who’s to say what the younger generation finds appealing? I look forward to seeing what the advertising company has to say about my video advertisement.
